Antoine Labbé is a Professor of Ophthalmology and Hospital Practitioner at the 15-20 National Ophthalmology Hospital in Paris. Specialized in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma, he is the Medical Director of the University Institute of Glaucoma at the 15-20 National Ophthalmology Hospital in Paris.
He works within the research team led by Professor Christophe Baudouin at the FOReSIGHT IHU, focusing on the development of new therapeutic approaches for glaucoma. Antoine Labbé has published more than 200 articles and book chapters on anterior segment diseases of the eye, ocular surface disorders, and glaucoma. Antoine Labbé is Vice-President of the French Society of Ophthalmology and Vice-President of the French Glaucoma Society.
Deeply committed to medical education, he also serves as First Vice-Dean of the Simone Veil Health Faculty, University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.
Jean-Rémi Fénolland is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the Val-de-Grâce Military Academy in Paris and a Hospital Practitioner at Bégin Army Hospital, in the Paris area.
His main fields of expertise are glaucoma and ocular traumatology, with a particular focus on battlefield-related ocular injuries and medico-legal assessment. He is a recognized expert witness accredited by the Paris Court of Appeal.
Professor Fénolland combines an extensive military medical background with a long-standing academic and hospital career. He is an active member of the executive board of the French Society of Ophthalmology and the French Glaucoma Society, and regularly serves as a reviewer for peer-reviewed ophthalmology journals. He is actively involved in national and international scientific meetings.
Dr Ana Rodriguez is a Locum Consultant at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, specialising in paediatric ophthalmology, inherited retinal diseases, and genetic eye disorders. She completed her PhD at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, where her research focused on better understanding inherited retinal diseases and improving how visual function is measured in rare retinal conditions to support future clinical trials and advance patient care. Alongside her clinical and academic work, she is actively involved in mentorship and advocacy as Early Career Lead for Women in Vision UK.
Dra. Cláudia Costa Ferreira é Assistente Hospitalar Graduada de Oftalmologia na Unidade Local de Saúde de Entre Douro e Vouga e exerce também atividade clínica no Hospital da Luz Arrábida, no Porto, em Portugal.
Dedica-se sobretudo à área da oftalmologia pediátrica e estrabismo, com particular interesse no diagnóstico e tratamento da ambliopia, rastreio de fatores de risco ambliogénicos, assim como no controle da progressão da miopia em idade pediátrica.
Integra a atual Direção da Sociedade Portuguesa de Oftalmologia e participa ativamente em atividades científicas, ensino, congressos nacionais e internacionais na área da oftalmologia pediátrica.
É ainda co-host do podcast OftalmoGPS, dedicado à divulgação científica e à educação médica em oftalmologia.
Licenciado em Medicina pela Faculdade de Ciências Médica de Lisboa, Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Realizou a formação específica em Oftalmologia no Hospital de Santa Maria, Centro Hospitalar Lisboa Norte.
Atualmente é assistente Graduado Sénior na Unidade Local de Saúde da Arrábida onde exerce funções de Diretor de Serviço e é responsável pelo Conselho de Gestão do Centro de Responsabilidade Integrada de Oftalmologia.
Dedica-se à área de Retina Médica e Cirúrgica, bem como cirurgia de catarata e implanto-refractiva.
Está frequentemente envolvido na apresentação de trabalhos científicos em congressos e reuniões nacionais e internacionais. Participou como co-investigador em ensaios clínicos.

Luca Gualdi is born in Rome (Italy) 3-1-1975. In 2001 he was graduated in Medicine and Surgery at University of Rome (Italy) “La Sapienza” with 110/110 cum laude and in 2006 in Ophthalmology at “University of Tor Vergata (PTV) in Rome (Italy) with 50/50 cum laude. In 2007 He completed a post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Cataract in Universidade de São Paulo (USP) – Brazil.
He is currently the Director of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Unit at D.O.M.A. (Diagnostica Oftalmologica e Chirurgia Ambulatoriale). He is currently teacher at the Refractive Surgery Master at the University “La Cattolica – Policlinico Gemelli” in Rome (Italy) and consulent for the Vatican City.
He is author of numerous abstracts, papers, courses, chapters and books in the field of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Luca Gualdi is involved as instructor in many Refractive and Cataract Surgery courses mainly focused on: Presbyopia, Premium and Phakic IOLs, Corneal Cross-Linking, Iontophoresis, Intracorneal Rings, Dry-Eye, Femtosecond Cataract Surgery, Excimer Laser, Ciliary Muscle Electrostimulation and Laser Scleral Microporation with Erbium laser.
He has directed as volunteer, various humanitartan missions in Tanzania, Ghana, Brazil, India and Cambodia attending and operating patients expecially affected by cataract and glaucoma.
Dr. Luca Gualdi in 2018 received the Waring Medal in New York and in 2020 the Star Gold Medal in Mumbai. In 2023 was elected fellow of the World College of Refractive Surgery & Visual Sciences. In 2024 he was nominated “the Ophthalmologist of the year” and he receiwed in Dubai the recognition by the Health Leaders Forttuna Awards.
Currently he is regular reviewer/editor on Journal of Refractive Surgery, International Ophthalmology, Frontiers in Medicine, Current Trends in Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
He is consultant for the following ophthalmic companies: Alcon, J&J, Hoya, Santen, Tarsus, Tomey, Ziemer.

Matteo Piovella, MD, is an internationally acclaimed cataract and refractive surgery expert and has a private practice specializing in cataract, glaucoma, retina and refractive surgery in Monza (Milan), Italy. Dr Piovella earned his medical degree and residency in ophthalmology from University of Pavia, Italy. Dr Piovella after serving since 1998 as General Secretary Treasurer of Italian Ophthalmological Society (SOI), founded in 1869, is now President of the Society (2010 – 2026) that represents the 7000 Italian eye doctors.

He chairs the Italian Ophthalmological Society National Committee which wrote the clinical guidelines for cataract surgery, intra-vitreous therapy and endophthalmitis prevention that are used in Italy. As SOI President he his supporting the co-payment system approval in Italy to provide ophthalmic eye care access to the new technologies as toric and multifocal IOLs. He is the recipient of the highest international awards for cataract and refractive surgery: SOE Helmholtz Medal 2022 Award,Strampelli SOI Medal Lecture 2022, Medaglia d’Oro Maestri dell’Oftalmologia Italiana 2021, the American Academy of Ophthalmology (Life Achievement 2018,Honor Award, Senior Achievement Award, Achievement Award), American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (Film Festival Award), A Pioneer in Refractive Surgery Award, The International Academy for Advance in Ophthalmology (Gold Medal)The Indian Intraocular Implant and Refractive Society (Gold Medal). Dr Piovella shared his experience with worldwide eye doctors in teaching in 278 Instruction Course Program (137 as Senior Instructors / Chairman and 141 as invited Faculty) held during AAO, ASCRS and ESCRS the most recognize international ophthalmological meetings. Dr Piovella is acclaimed as the Eye Doctor with more experience in making live surgery programs safe and effective. He has performed worldwide, through International Meetings, 151 live surgeries demonstrations to share his knowledge and innovator techniques. His personal scientific research is certified with 809 paper presentations in 45 Countries. He served for 6 years as Associate Medical Editors of Ocular Surgery News, a leading trade journal that has a global circulation of more than 50.000 ophthalmologists.
His actual field of interest is related to personalized advanced cataract surgery using Toric and Trifocal IOLs technology to provide for distance intermediate and near high quality vision without correction.
Tjebo Heeren is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Moorfields Eye Hospital, specialising in medical retina and cataract surgery. His PhD research advanced understanding of macular telangiectasia type 2. With a deep passion for statistics and open-source data science — he authored the R package eye — he is currently building Bayesian predictive models for posterior capsule rupture risk in cataract surgery.

Marcela Bohn de Albuquerque Alves is an Ophthalmologist specialising in medical retina and uveitis, with Ophthalmology training and a vitreoretinal fellowship at Hospital Federal dos Servidores do Estado in Rio de Janeiro. She has been working at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London for the past eight years, where she currently holds the post of Specialist Doctor in Uveitis, managing complex adult and paediatric uveitis cases and coordinating weekly uveitis teaching. She is also an Honorary Locum Consultant in the Rheumatology Department at University College London Hospitals, where she is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team for paediatric and adolescent uveitis care and transition services.
